A mad, mad world #life
I read this morning that the rise in space junk could provoke armed conflict. This comes from the Guardian which is far more worrying than if it came from the Sun or the Mail. This space junk flying around could crash into a military satellite and be construed as an attack.
I saw a TV programme where they showed the nuclear trigger that some guy on a Trident nuclear submarine has to press in the event of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD). We were reassured it wouldn’t be pressed unless the UK had already been destroyed. They would then release Armageddon on the Russia people. The end of life on earth, at least as we know it, would then begin. I wonder if some people would mutate and survive? I’m not too keen on living in a world with that much radiation let alone lots of mutants.
The Telegraph reports that the Zika virus could be affecting babies who haven’t even been born yet in South America. They are being born with underdeveloped brains and skulls. If a virus that tiny we can’t see it can do that, imagine what the radiation from a world of nuclear contamination could do. I have a vision of mutants that look like a cross between David Cameron and George Osborne roaming our streets guided by underdeveloped brains. Thank God they only run the country. Don’t tell them about the guy with the nuclear trigger on a PlayStation joystick…
Dehumanising the poor
The Guardian again accusing Cameron and company of dehumanising the poor by saying those on large estates are more likely to resort to crime. I’ve been on some of those horrible estates and they are ugly and the inhabitants are more violent and aggressive because they have to fight to survive against a government that is dehumanising them. The council also makes matters worse because they are so utilitarian. Give them a functional home with bedrooms, kitchen, etc. It doesn’t really need to look nice. Give them a park with keep fit equipment. Give them an ugly box and call it an art gallery. Give them a leisure centre where they can keep fit and strong to carry on the good fight against their masters. Don’t give them beauty or culture, it will make the weak and they might start changing into mutant Tories wandering the streets asking people for votes.
On a brighter note, it is a bit warmer today in the Black Country. Every cloud has a silver lining.
