Be like Mike #ramble
This is the latest Facebook craze. The ‘be like’ cards. I did my own, rather than have one made up for me. I do what I like…
I think the success of these simple cards is it allows people to express themselves. To have a voice and say something to a lot of people. It might be humorous but humour is often inspired by the truth. Humour can often allow us to say outrageous things and get away with it.
Anyway, it’s Sunday morning here in the Black Country and this is in the heart of England where humour is the only thing that keeps us sane. We treasure our ability to laugh at life with all its peculiarities and quirks. We find humour in all those embarrassing bodily functions that we sometimes have no control over. From running noses to galloping trots, we can laugh at our human frailty. I find humour in many things that are not even supposed to be humorous.
We English talk about the weather a lot because it changes so often and is almost impossible for weather forecasters to predict. They even use supercomputers to make predictions now and they still don’t get it right. This morning we have black clouds to the west, which often means rain but the forecasters have predicted a cloudy day with little rain.
You might think it’s easy to write a blog like this, but it’s not. It’s not just writing, it’s social media to publicise the blog and you have to understand what the search engines do as well. Bloggers are often under appreciated and business doesn’t use their talents enough. I did come across a Chinese company that is willing to give bloggers their products to try and so in a roundabout way sponsor them. I wish more companies would do this. I’m having to change my strategy for this blog a lot and will be using my Facebook page more to drive traffic to my blog. I intend to use a lot more photographs this year too. My photography blogs are often used by a regional newspaper now so that’s a little more publicity, but I am looking to write for a magazine now too. Maybe I need a new ‘be like’ card that says I’m a writer…
I think I’m going to make today’s post much more interesting with a load of photos. So that’s it for today.
