For better or worse #ramble

Yes, it’s Sunday morning and so I’ll share my thoughts with you once again. I’ve been trying to stimulate discussion on the local history page I run and in the group. There was a movie about the effect of a single butterfly landing on a flower. I haven’t seen it but I’m told that small incident had a far-reaching effect. We can all have an influence on our environment and on the community we live in; it can be for better or worse.

better or worse

For better or worse

I was reminded of this event in the market at the beginning of summer. It attracted shoppers to the town centre but lacked publicity. I tried to publicise it a little and went around taking photos and talking to market traders. Some market traders were there just for the day and I tried to encourage them to come every week. It was all in vain but at least I tried! If we make an effort will it be for better or worse? I think it will either make things better or have little effect. Complacency and doing nothing leads to the decline.

Negativity

I suppose that is the same for most things but negativity can make matters worse. It can destroy our faith in tried and trusted methods and procedures. There are people who perhaps because of depression have a negative outlook on life. I admit I’m not the most positive person in the world but I do try to be positive and look on the bright side.

Photography

I usually go out and do some landscape photography on a Sunday afternoon but today it’s pouring with rain. I’ll find something to do with my time and will still go out if there is a break in the rain. I like to look forward and although the rain is forecast to last until Tuesday I have plans for the rest of the week which includes an artist talk on Thursday. I am quite enthusiastic about next year’s photography festival and the events on the run up to it. My art card project is just one project I hope to do between now and the festival.

We have to live our lives for better or worse and a positive outlook is more likely to make life better. I’ll end with some pictures. If you would like to follow my blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar and you can find links to the latest posts on my Facebook page.
