Happy Easter, everyone #ramble

Happy Easter, everyone! Yes, it’s Easter Sunday and I’m sharing my thoughts with you once again. We had our Eggstravaganza in Wednesbury yesterday. It didn’t go quite according to plan because the bouncy castle arrived very late. There were music, singing and dancing, so it was quite good. There was a nuisance after I left but there is always someone who doesn’t know how to behave in public.

Happy Easter

This pair kept things lively and handed out Easter eggs to the best dancers. Of course, we did plan lots of events like this as part of the Business Improvement Districts initiative but that didn’t come to fruition. Stallholders on the market only paid £5.10 for a stall but they invested their time and effort and it was disappointing not to have the crowds that we should have expected.

Police presence

I think we need a police presence at future events to keep the Neanderthals in check. Members of the public should be able to go about their business without being accosted and harassed.

At least I got some good photos with really fast shutter speeds. I had forgotten what it was like to have enough light! I’m usually deciding how high the ISO should go to compensate for the lack of light. I even took some shots at over a 1/1000th of a second!

We are coming up to the local elections and I try to stay neutral but at the same time, I endorsed candidates I know do good works in a voluntary capacity. I’m not, however, a member or supporter of any particular political party. I think both Labour and Conservatives have their extremists with far right and far left ideas. I think the Lib Dems would be doing well if they hadn’t made a pact with the Conservatives. Maybe they will recover if they can find a half-decent new leader.

Easter Sunday

I’m going to forget politics and enjoy my Easter Sunday. I did my job quite well yesterday and got some good photos. We have an arts festival coming up and so I am trying to concentrate on making a small contribution to the Blast Photography festival.

Have a great Easter and enjoy the sunshine. If you would like to subscribe to my blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar or follow me on Twitter for links to the latest post.
