Happy St Georges Day #ramble

Yes, it is Sunday morning again here in Merry England and I share my thoughts with you once again. What’s on my mind this morning? It’s St Georges Day of course. St George according to legend slayed the dragon, did he not? We all have our dragons to slay, those challenges that life puts before us that we must overcome to succeed. Today’s picture is of two foxes that I saw when I opened my curtains this morning frolicking in a trench filled with dried grass cuttings at the bottom of the garden.

Foxes on St Georges day

St Georges Day

The largest St Georges Day parade in the country is in West Bromwich. That’s where I shall go this morning. I’ve just taken the apostrophes out of St Georges day because Twitter can handle apostrophes and that is my keyword for today. I have to use keywords so people can find this crap using Google, not that they ever do find my blog posts.

Laser eye surgery

I’m having laser eye surgery next month on my right eye and then the vision in my left eye will be improved with a new lens in my glasses. I might be able to see what I’m doing then. I want new glasses for reading and seeing my computer screen too. I can hardly see what I’m doing!

New car?

Yes, I’ll be having a new car too. Well, not quite new but a different car. I’m hoping to get one that is about five years old this time. The car I have now was 7 years old when I bought it and I made it last me 13 years. The poor thing is 20 years old now so it is time for a change. It will be an improvement on this one with all the latest technology like Bluetooth. I hope it has parking sensors too.

Art

I’m hoping to enter an art competition too. Everyone’s taste in art is different and so it is a matter of luck as much as judgement as to whether my entry is accepted but we have to try. Some of my art work will go on display soon anyway so what does it matter! We do our best and hope for the best and see what happens.

This is what life is about, overcoming obstacles, beating down the dragons and trying to achieve something. It is about making slight improvements in our lives and appreciating what we have. It’s about looking out of the window on a sunny morning and appreciating the view.

That’s all for this week. If you would like to follow this blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar or follow me on Twitter  for updates. You can also find links on my Facebook page.
