Neodigital Art | Creativity

The Milky Pool

Neodigital Art is about creating a work of art using a digital device. That device could be a phone with a camera, a digital camera or a scanner. I used a digital camera for this picture, but I have also drawn pictures with a pen, coloured them with felt tip pens and then scanned them. After scanning your picture you can then edit it with photo editing software.

The photograph above was taken in May and so the colours are very subtle, no bright colours and with the editing, I tried to preserve that quality. The photo is almost like a watercolour. The sky was very white that day though, which is reflected on to the water.

Woden Road South July 2012

This shot, taken when it was sunny in July is very different and you can see the blue sky also makes the water blue. The reflections of the trees adds to the interest.

Canal near Moorcroft Wood

The light wasn’t very good when I took this photo, but I made it more interesting by getting the tree in the foreground, that also gave it a lot of depth.

Merrion's Wood 2012

I took some great photos on my first visit to Merrion’s Wood and I took this on my third visit. The second time the water was covered in leaves. This time the light was different, the sun was shining through brighter. I don’t think it’s as good as my original photo, it can be hard to improve something that is already near perfect.

Motor Show 175

If the light is really bad, then you can try taking photos of man made objects like vehicles or buildings. We have had a little rain in England this summer and so it has been more difficult to get good light. The sun came out for this shot and is reflecting off the cars, but it’s a reasonably good shot.

Sunshine 030

Sometimes when the sun does shine, I just try to capture the natural beauty of the landscape. Here we see nature at its best and a man made canal. I also included the wall, that is the side of the bridge in the shot to give it some depth. Access to some places can be difficult and I doubt if many local people recognise where I took this shot. You do have to go exploring!

There are more amazing blogs on the home page that you might like. Page views on this blog were higher yesterday than my WordPress blog. Please share with your Facebook friends and click ‘like’ and make this website a success so it keeps going for many years to come. I have more writers interested in writing for the site now, so it could get more informative, entertaining and even amusing…

For the benefit of other bloggers, I used Live Writer to do this post. It took an hour including finding the photos, adding watermarks, sizing them and writing the copy.  There are nearly 500 words.

    • If I win that 150 million pounds on the Euro-lottery tonight, I’ll have a better camera! I think I’ll get a better computer and internet, it’s driving me nuts today!
