Neodigital Art | Editing – step by step
This photograph was taken late in the day and so we have lots of shadows. The benches in the foreground give the picture some depth. Will editing make it better?
Using Windows Live Photo Gallery, I added highlights. It doesn’t make a big difference, but the definition seems better in places. It has made the photo look duller though.
Now I have added lots of contrast and little brightness. The difference is subtle, but it makes the picture better.
There are some reds in the picture and so I added lots of ‘warmth’ and finally cropped one of the benches off the picture to show the shelter more clearly.
This is the same photograph, cropped again. It shows the shelter more clearly. There are more blogs on the home page.

That was wonderfully done Mike!
I normally use Photoshop for editing the images or doing other things, though it’s not something everyone is very comfortable with.
I liked the last result after you added a little warmth to it
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Harleena,
Welcome to a Zillion Ideas! I have used Photoshop, but it seems so slow. I use about 20 photographs a week on my blogs and it takes time to take them and edit them. I don’t usually spend more than a few minutes editing each one. The last time I used Photoshop, I spent an hour editing just one Photograph. I also write thrifty and frugal blogs and Windows Live Photo Gallery is free!
Thanks for visiting. Carolyn likes these posts too.
