Neodigital Art | International

Neodigital Art goes International

I’ve started today with a photograph by Simon James taken in the North of England recently. The view of the church from quite an unusual angle works well. When I edited this I tried to get the textures to show up as much as possible.

Wonderoftech 2 edit

This photograph was taken by Carolyn over at a wonder of tech using a smart phone.  It has interesting colours. There appears to be a dark circle on the left of the house, I thought that was a problem with the camera lens, but it’s reflected in the water. It must be a trick of the light. Carolyn, is in the USA and so that’s today’s contribution from over the pond…

This one was taken by Fei Ye, an International student from China studying business (marketing) at the University of Wolverhampton. She took this photograph on Sunday in West Park, Wolverhampton, here in England.

This was also taken by Fei in West Park on Sunday. The colours of Autumn are quite striking. I did edit this to make it lighter and it looked too light, now it looks a little dark.

Moorcroft 027

Just to do a comparison, this is one I took on Sunday. This is Moorcroft Wood and I was shooting into the sun trying to get it to light up the trees. It was quite muddy and slippery with all the falling leaves. It was quite dark and spooky farther into the woodland and so more challenging to take photographs.

I edited all these photographs, if you would like to send in a contribution from anywhere in the world, attach them to an email and send them to the email address in the sidebar.

Thanks this week, to Simon James, Carolyn Nicander Mohr and Fei Ye for their contributions to a Zillion Ideas.  You can click any of the pictures to see them full size and you can join this very exclusive art group, simply by taking pictures and editing them to create art. Then send them to me and I’ll feature them!

  1. Hi Mike, Sorry, what a crazy busy week!

Thanks for including my photo here at A Zillion Ideas! I don’t know what that black mark is on the pond. I drive by there every day so I checked it out and there really isn’t anything there to cause that kind of reflection.

I will load some more pictures for you on Flickr. I tested a great phone this week that took really sharp pictures.

Feel free to use them and edit them as you wish.

I really like the Simon James image at the top of the blog. The perspective is very artistic. I have to resist my inclination to take symmetrical pictures straight on!

    • Hi Carolyn,

I thought that mark was a flaw in the lens after I had done the edit. But it reflected in the water so must have been a trick of the light. Simon used to take symmetrical pictures and dislike editing. I’ve corrupted him now. I like that picture of the church, it has perspective and lots of patterns. Steps always look good in a photograph. A well known photographer died last week and some of his shots are great. He managed to get a canal, motorway and a railway all in the same shots. I want to go to where he did those shots, if the weather ever brightens up. I did get a few good shots last week, with the sun really low in the sky. WE did night photos in the dark the other day, we’re getting desperate. I took some with 4 second shutter speeds! 🙂
