Sketch - Neodigital Art - England sepia

This photograph of apartments at the side of the canal were turned into a sketch using Fotosketcher and this makes for a pleasing picture. By a coincidence the art gallery is just around the corner.

Sketch - canal 6

Again this is Fotosketcher and this picture looks  interesting because the building cast a reflection on the surface of the water. It is a little dark but I like that on a black background.

The Metro

Man made objects appear to make better sketches and this one is of a light rail system. The lines going away from us give it depth and despite the manipulation you can still clearly identify what it is.

This demolition site makes a good picture just because the sun was setting and I edited just a little to get the sky the way I wanted it.

The canal

I added a little text to this photograph of the canal and it seems more interesting. I like art nouveau with a combination of illustration and text. I would like to work on that technique. I think choosing the right font is important.

  1. Hi Mike, So did you use FotoSketcher on the bottom two images?

I agree with you, using the drawing effect is better with man made objects. I tried it with some nature photos and it didn’t enhance the image.

    Your photos look great though!

  2. Hi Carolyn,

No I added the last two images just for comparison. They are edited but not sketched and you still get a good effect. Fotosketcher seems good with things that have sharp lines, like buildings rather than the smooth lines of nature. It worked well on the railway tracks.

Thanks for the visit, I’ll make this site popular eventually!
