Neodigital Art | What is art?
People really enjoy looking at some of my pictures. Are those pictures art? I don’t think so, I think the really unusual ones or the ones that have been edited to create something special can be considered to be art. What do you think? Would you like to see this picture on the wall of your local art gallery? Or on the wall in your home?
I like this picture, but I think it looks better in monochrome. It has lots of depth and I find it slightly unnerving. The drivers are hogging the outside lanes and driving too close. At 70 mph or more that is dangerous. I was going to drive on there, but after I had taken this photo, I went right off the idea! That is Junction 10 of the M6 motorway…
I like this picture too, we stopped at a park to take a few photos, but the pub over the road looked far more interesting. I cropped this to get rid of a car parked on the left of the picture. I would have liked to get rid of some signs too. The colour makes it artistic, I think. I did that with Smoothdraw 3 (freeware). Selecting different colours for the whole picture that are very subtle, gives an interesting effect.
I took this picture in Reedswood Park. It has been converted to monochrome and I have it a bluish-green tint this time. What do you think? Artistic?
This is Perry Hall Park and the light was terrible, but it has been all summer. It is the site of an old Manorial Hall and there was a moat, but this is a modern reconstruction by volunteers. I was standing on one bridge for this shot and you can see the other bridge at the end of the path. The moat goes around in a square.
We hit traffic from the soccer match and I turned off the main road and found this bridge across the canal. The sign is really interesting, it was wrong though. It says Walsall is 11 miles away; the town centre was only about 4 miles away and so I’m not sure what it was meant to refer to.
I hope you liked today’s pictures. When I edited some of the pictures it was in artificial light and they look different in natural daylight and so I edited them again. If you’re not happy with a picture taken in poor light, try changing it to monochrome, they sometimes look better.
