On my mind #ramble

It is Sunday morning and so once again I share a few thoughts with you. What’s on my mind this week? Too much! I was having weird dreams last night, I had so much whirring through my mind. I’ve had a lot of criticism this year and most of it has been politically motivated. I get caught between the loony left and the loony right. I just try to contribute to the community. I do that by taking writing, taking photos and managing social media. On Friday I was photographing the Christmas lights switch-on. Yes, I photographed politicians but that doesn’t mean I support all their policies. In fact I support some right-wing policies such as Donald Trump’s corporation tax cuts. That doesn’t make me an American Republican. If they implement austerity to pay for those tax cuts, I will condemn them.

Things on my mind

Sick to death

Yes, I’m sick to death of certain people making very personal attacks on others that they hardly know and make judgements without hearing all the facts. This seems to be par for the course as far as national politics is concerned but it seems to be seeping into the culture of local politics as well. I’m not affiliated to any political party and I’ve come under attack just for speaking to local politicians. The behaviour of these so-called political activists is childish to say the least. I suppose they are insecure and so prone to tantrums and feel the need to seek power in a bid to feel more in control. Who knows? I just give them plenty of rope in the hope they will hang themselves. Karma can be a bitch too.

We have to get our priorities right and top of my list of priorities right now is my health. I had a consultation with a specialist. I received a copy of the letter he sent to my doctor yesterday and it made depressing reading. I’m not about to give up though. I might be on my last legs but I still have a few gasps left and I’ll make the most of it. So I shall be continuing my quest to become more than a photographer and try to create art. Part of that effort will involve looking after my health better and I have some cooperation from the medical profession to help me do that. I have another appointment with a specialist in 2 weeks and tomorrow I go to the university for a special scan. Now that is on my mind…

On my mind

So there is a lot on my mind. I fend off insults and criticism and try to cope with serious illness at the same time. I cope by planning a future that will involve art and culture and I hope will make life better not only for me but others too. Our Christmas light switch-on was a great success but we need summer events too so I can take photos without freezing to death! I hope my art might be a step in the right direction if we can organise something.

The weather

The weather is always on my mind and I doubt if I will be doing landscape photography today. It is dark and miserable but we are coming to the end of 2017 and 2018 will be like a new dawn. Who knows what exciting challenges I might encounter in 2018. I know I will be developing my photography. I have a very expensive lens on my wish list! I’ll be developing my social media strategies too and using Twitter and Instagram more. I shall also be paying more attention to my blog and my own social media channels. One doctor has advised me to put myself first more rather than the community.

So that is what is on my mind this week. If you enjoy reading my posts you can follow my blog by entering your email address at the top of the sidebar. If you are interested in writing for A Zillion Ideas, send me an email and maybe I’ll publish your stuff. The same goes for photographs. If you live locally to me in Wednesbury, please get in touch if you’re interested in getting involved in writing, photography or art and we can perhaps set up an informal group in 2018. I also have a Twitter account and you can follow me on Twitter for updates or find links and photos on my Facebook page.
