Redhouse Park in February 2012

I remember this photo. I took it in Redhouse park in West Bromwich, about 4 or 5 miles from my home. I just wanted to come home that day, I was cold and felt sick. I’m not sure what possessed me to go there in February! It’s a good picture though, taken with a Fujifilm S5600.

Photographic memories

I’d taken this picture just two weeks before at Hydes Pool in Wednesbury. The geese were skating on ice!

We had snow earlier that month, this was February the 5th. It was really too cold to go outside. I think I took this shot was about 3 in the morning!  I still have the Fujifilm S5600, I keep it in the car, just in case I see something worth photographing.

This was Hydes Pool in March of the same year. It was still very wintery, but we had some sunshine. The water looked really strange as you can see. The cold weather had really affected the landscape. It was a shame about that traffic cone in the water, it sort of spoilt the shot.

It was really sunny, but cold, when I photographed the Goodyear balloon. I don’t think I even got out of the car! I said that was a flying saucer when I posted this picture on Facebook. It’s actually a flying duck!

The Fujifilm camera was quite good, but now I have a Nikon D3200 with a few lenses. the 55mm kit lens wasn’t very good, so I bought a 105 mm and a 300 mm lens. I have started photographing events now and i think I’m starting to get quite good at it! It’s quite different to landscape photography.

I’ll end with some more photographic memories from the past. Please follow this blog by entering your email address in the space in the sidebar or follow me on Twitter.
