Photography: More editing

This is an interesting photo of an apartment block. I appear to have an angle looking upwards, but in fact I took it from a distance away. I had to wait for a gap in the cars that were driving past. I cropped it and then used perspective distort in PhotoScape to change the perspective and make it look more imposing.

This bridge across the river can make a good picture, but the weather wasn’t very good when I took this. I’ve made it lighter and added a border. The patterns of the bridge and the rocks make it more interesting.

I took this photo yesterday when the sun came out. I cropped it to get the church fairly central and then added the border. Then I saved it and quit PhotoScape. Then I ran PhotoScape again to add a second border. This time I went for a shadow border around the edge. When you do an image like this that needs to be resized for the internet, be sure to resize it before the add any lettering to it. I resized this to 1000 px across and then added the title at the top in French Script.

This post was published yesterday due to an error when it wasn’t finished. I’ve finished it today and edited out the mistakes! Some changes have been made on the site this week too, so a couple of posts were published that were just for theme detection. It is all done now, so I hope there will be no more errors.

  1. Hi Mike, That apartment building photo is majestic. I like both the angle and the orange section that makes it more interesting. The photo also seems more effective because you took it in winter when the leaves were off of the trees.

My favorite this week is the footbridge. Your edits of that photo make the bridge seem almost magical!

  2. Hi Carolyn,

I didn’t get a email telling me about your comment, but it is in 14 pt Calibri, so that’s an improvement. This post went to ariel 9pt earlier today! The apartment block, I like because of the perspective. That camera angle would be hard to get! The edit of the bridge was easy but I was really trying to get the colours better. They are dull in winter and messy.

Thanks for the comment. Thanks for pinning them too!
