Posters, postcards and flags
I designed this poster last night for something to do. It was quite easy, but I did make a mistake and then saved it. Mistakes are easy to correct, before you’ve saved, but not after! I managed to correct the post code.
It does look slightly odd where I altered the postcode. I was working to a broadly red, white and blue theme and then went and added yellow! I used different fonts and the Black Country flag is overlaid quite faintly. I think it’s quite good considering I hadn’t had much practice.
I did this humorous postcard this morning. I did the ‘Wish you were here?’ in Black Country dialect. I took the photo yesterday. I think it would have been better if I had taken a photo specifically for a postcard.
I took this photo at Moorcroft Wood yesterday too and with text added it makes a nice postcard. Maybe one day someone will ask me to design some to be printed. For now though they can go on the internet and help make Wednesbury and the Black Country famous!
This is my flag for Wednesbury, based on the Black Country flag. I have selected the same colours for the text as the flag and I think it looks quite good.
So what do you think of today’s pictures? Want to try to design some postcards yourself? Then download Photoscape and have a go. Be careful on that site to read it carefully and click the right download button. Once you have downloaded it, you’ll have an icon on your desktop to run it. When you run it, you’ll have a choice of features, click edit image and see what you can do with one of your pictures…
That’s all for today. If you have questions, please use the comments box. You can also follow this blog using the widget at the top of the side bar or follow me on Twitter for updates.
