Rain-rain, go away, I want sunshine today! #ramble

Yes, it’s Sunday morning and so once again I share my thoughts with you. You can guess what I have on my mind this morning from my title. Yes, rain-rain is spoiling my day. I’m going out later and there is the re-dedication of the war memorial tonight. I haven’t been asked to take photos but I was last year so I might inquire if I am needed.

rain-rain go away. I want sunshine!

A bit of sunshine

That’s what I need a bit of sunshine. Hold on, I think it might be stopping! I have checked the weather forecast for this afternoon and it says sunny. I think the sky is clearing. This is good news! The rain-rain is going away! Hold on, the temperature tonight is forecast to fall to 5 C, brr…

Nothing is ever perfect

Nothing is ever perfect, sunshine this afternoon means bloody cold this evening. We have to accept things as they are, even the rain-rain that won’t go away. Some people seem to feel they have to resist and protest every little thing they don’t like. They moan and they grumble. I have learned to accept life’s disappointments, more with a sigh of resignation, rather than self-destructive anger.

Model Rail

I went to the model rail showcase in the art gallery yesterday. The critics will poke fun at grown men playing with trains but we all need an interest that takes us away from the often harsh reality, that can be life. My interest is photography and I am optimistic that I’ll get a few pictures today. I just can’t decide whether I want to go out in the dark and cold this evening!

Rain-rain

I watch the sky a lot when I’m taking photos and it does help me predict the weather. The sky was very dark 15 minutes ago and it was raining. The rain stopped and the sky cleared and now it’s cloudy again. My prediction for today is sunshine and showers.

Social media

I’m quite into social media but many people don’t really understand the interactive nature of it. It needs to be personalised and that leads to a loss of privacy and personal attacks. I think I’m handling the negativity and developing new ideas to use social media to improve the town I live in. I do feel that Wednesbury has become a backwater in a large Metropolis but maybe we can raise the profile a little. Influence is about small steps in a positive direction, not a major change. Changing perceptions is difficult but that is a challenge that we can often meet with social media. I’m into Twitter and Instagram now as well as engaging with people on Facebook. I’m finding history, heritage and culture is something we all have in common and so I’m trying to use that to be creative and to reach out to like-minded people. I think I will be exhibiting one or two pictures next year. Art can be a medium to reach out to people too.

That’s all for this week. In case you missed it, I reviewed a Bluetooth speaker yesterday, please check that post out.
