Reasons to be cheerful #ramble

I’m looking for reasons to be cheerful this morning after a depressing week. My visit to the doctor last week didn’t go well and this week has been a week of learning about political intrigue and even being accused of using political influence myself. I think that was the accusation anyway. These so-called political activists and trolls are never very precise with their accusations. They simply fish for information and stir it hoping to get a response they can use.

reasons to be cheerful

Siege mentality

I’ve noticed people in local political circles adopting a siege mentality and not only being cautious but being devious. I do have friends though and one kind person gave me a link to a news story which explains the motivation behind a particular troll’s delusions as he searches for conspiracies at a local government level. Today’s picture might give you a clue and you can read the news story about the ‘Public’. I always thought that was a stupid name. I do have a photograph in an exhibition in a proper Victorian art gallery which has been sabotaged since it’s glory days and lacks natural light but at least it doesn’t have pink fluorescent lighting.

Exposing wrong-doing

There is nothing wrong with political activists trying to expose wrong-doing and questioning those in authority. That is the role of civil society. It is advisable to keep it civil, however. Harassment just makes you appear to be an obsessive troll. Anyway, this troll would have been better making friends with me rather than trying to attack my reputation with lies and innuendo. I do come across dodgy dealing but there are accepted ways of dealing with that sort of thing. I was reminded of the saying, ‘give ‘em enough rope and they’ll hang themselves’ this week. That is frequently true.

Reasons to be cheerful

As well as agreeing with Gordon Brown this morning that Britain could be heading for another economic crash, I also saw that Tom Watson has taken his doctor’s advice and now has his type 2 diabetes under control. I’ve taken Tom’s photo and got an impression of him. I think he is a deep thinker who considers things carefully before he speaks or puts his thoughts on record as written words. Internet trolls ought to consider carefully before they put their obsessive thoughts out on the web. Perhaps they have a sense that their reputations are already in tatters so it can’t get any worse but people forget if you let them. Anyway, I think my bad leg has improved a little and although my finances have been better I have no debts and can fund my photography for some time to come.

I usually share my plans in my blog posts but I must admit I feel like being more secretive. Where am I going this weekend? Mind your own business, I’m hoping not to run into any of life’s misfits. I will be trying to take some interesting pictures, though. I don’t need a ‘box of delights’ to pursue my artistic aims or money. I have a camera and a computer what more do I need?

I’ve just thought of another reason to be cheerful, the sun is shining and the rain has stopped! It is quite a harsh light though, not ideal for photography. People like my pictures and say photography is something I’m good at. I’m quite good at combining those visual images with words too. Being good at something can make you feel good about yourself.

That’s it for today, I’m going over my 600-word limit, that would be too boring! If you would like to follow my blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar or follow me on Twitter for links to the latest posts. There are also links on my Facebook page.
