Standing up to the bullies #politics

It’s Sunday morning once again and so as usual I’ll share my thoughts with you. I had problems earlier in the week because people didn’t like something I posted on Facebook. I compared the Tories crossing the House of Commons to form a new group to repeal the Corn Laws to what has happened recently. Brexiteer followers of our history group didn’t like the inference and tried to bully me into saying I wouldn’t mention anything political. History is political which is why many politicians studied it at university. I noticed a local councillor has suffered bullying by the Labour Party too. Standing up to the bullies isn’t easy but it is necessary.

Standing up to the bullies

The Red Lion

Today’s picture is the Red Lion in Darlaston. I’ve decided that it will be one of the pictures that I’ll have printed as my next art card. I can’t give up on this idea even though I have no idea if they will sell or who will sell them. I’ve managed to get my printer working again and I printed this picture and a picture of the Fountain in Tipton and they look great. I just have to order the printing. I have to decide when to place the order because I will need to be at home for the delivery. This is my picture of The Fountain.

Creative challenge

Tomorrow I’ll do a my weekly creative challenge as usual. I’m going to organise a creative challenge for the history fans in November so I’m thinking about that and planning it. I have been promised some prizes so hopefully it will be a success like the contribution competition was. We have to keep on trying!

At one time, I would wake in the early hours of the morning and I would plan what I would write the next morning. Now I wake in the early hours and worry about things. My main worry at the moment is whether I will be able to drive after my next hospital appointment. I’ll phone them tomorrow and ask their advice. Worries are a problem if you’re a writer and it can even interfere with other creative endeavours like photography.

Anyway, I shall be standing up to the bullies and encouraging others to do the same. These online armchair warriors gain in confidence unless confronted. I even got harassed on the street for taking photos. If you would like to follow my blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar or follow me on Twitter for links to my latest posts.
