Summer pictures #photography


I took this photo of a swan on Hydes pool last August. I used spot focusing and a wide aperture. You can see the leaves in the foreground are out of focus, but the swan is in focus.

Birds in flight are a bit harder, but it’s the same principle. Use continuous focus and for this shot I used the 300mm lens. In summer you have better light and so a long lens and wide aperture with a fast shutter speed works.


The light was good and although this is a boring picture, it’s not too bad because the colours are good.
