We can save a little money here and there all year around. I recently bought a new phone after dropping mine trying to donate to the local food bank. I found the phone I wanted at Giff Giff for £120 less than I would have paid at Amazon or local retailers. £120 saving is a lot! I put that on my credit card and also on this month’s bill was the renewal on the web space for this site! I negotiated a discount of over £100 on that too. I still have a huge credit card bill to pay this month, but I saved £220 on my frugal February credit card bill!
The focus points on a camera are used to focus on your subject but they are also used for metering. My Nikon D3200 has 11 focus points and they are useful but I often only use one. Some cameras have a lot more focus points and they cover the whole frame.
I went to the open day of Great Barr Photographic Society on Sunday and got to look at their studio equipment. I even ended up on the other side of the camera and had a portrait photo taken which I’ve used on the home page. An open day is a good time to visit but they also have an exhibition in May. The exhibition will take place on 19th May 2016 and will be held at their club room from 7.30 pm at Gayton Road community centre. (more…)
I photographed two Christmas lights switch-ons last year and I have this year’s to think about now. I’ve bought a new Speedlight for Friday’s event and I’ve been practicing. Preparation is quite important with all events. (more…)
