As usual, I have had another week of trying to save money with thrifty and frugal ideas. I’m actually looking for another car. I have looked after mine but it is 20 years old this year and even I can’t make them last forever. It has a very slight oil leak but the main reason it has to go is it has started to corrode. It has virtually new brake pads and tyres and so I’ll hate to part with it. What a waste!
Another year of blogging draws to a close and I write the last post. It was an interesting year as I developed a role as a community writer and photographer. More photographer than writer. Maybe people will need my writing skills more in 2017 and if I’m lucky my art might be appreciated more. As 2016 ends I am framing photos and people actually want to buy them!
It’s Sunday morning and so I open my mind and its jumble of ideas and share the myriad of thoughts that swirl around inside my head each day. People think I’m a little crazy for doing unusual things. My sister asked where I got my new hat from yesterday and I said ’Shanghai’, she laughed but wasn’t surprised. My friend in Shanghai travelled to Bulgaria yesterday. I helped her confirm her hotel booking. I’m not just wide open to new ideas, I’m wide open to new experiences too.

I like this photo, it looks like they are suspended in mid-air. I took a few photos last weekend at Tipton Carnival and was hoping to photograph Willenhall Carnival yesterday, but the rain came… (more…)
Another year begins and many people are looking at the trends for finance in 2015. What would be a good investment in 2015? Gold continues to fall and although the stock market has recovered a little, it was still down at the end of 2014 compared to the previous year. The UK needs investment. (more…)
Today’s picture is of the River Tame. The bridleway runs along side of the river for a few miles and comes to Forge Mill lake. When I was young I would have walked along there or cycled. It’s a bit more of a struggle now, but I can still enjoy the scenery. Our behaviour and our ideas change as we get older. (more…)
Many children have imaginary friends to help them cope with the world they live in. Often their imaginary friends help them cope with loneliness. Children play and that is about imagining all kinds of things. They have tea parties with imaginary tea, imaginary sugar, imaginary milk and imaginary friends. (more…)
One of the reasons I started A Zillion Ideas was to give people a chance to write and be published. You have to write to gain experience and having your work published concentrates the mind. You try harder when people are reading your work. Fairy Dharawat has written some good posts and more recently she has been joined by Ramya Raju. I would have liked a few people from the UK too!
I took lots of photos last Sunday for my Neodigital Art blogs. What do you think of this one? I converted it to monochrome, but with a slight blue tint. It’s the enchanted woodland of Merrion’s Wood. Neodigital Art is about being creative with your digital camera, scanner and maybe a graphics tablet. In fact any digital device you can lay your hands on. It is fast becoming a school of art. If you search for Neodigital Art using Google, you will I have been promoting it for a few years now. Want to join in? (more…)
Fiction can be inspired by many things. It can be inspired by a photograph, a person, an outing, television or just a random thought. We have to keep our minds open to new ideas and new perspectives. I have just downloaded a new font, will it inspire me to write fiction? It could! (more…)
