It’s Sunday morning and so once again I share my thoughts with readers. Today, I have bokeh on my mind. What’s that? I think it’s Japanese for blur; anyway, it’s what photographers call the blur in some wide aperture photos like the one below. I want to get sharp portraits with blur in the background. I also want to be able to take better photos under fluorescent lights so I ordered a special filter. In fact, I ordered a set for my 35mm prime lens and another set for my 18 to 105mm lens. At least I didn’t buy a new camera or a lens. I have some self-control; not enough to resist buying a light meter, though.
I don’t usually do things on a whim, I tend to plan but I bought a lottery ticket for the Wednesday draw this week. No, I didn’t win, but I got two numbers and so a free lucky dip for tonight’s draw. My odds of winning tonight have halved, I have 2 tickets, but the odds are still over 20M to one. (more…)
My short post on Wednesday was about winning the lottery. I did buy a ticket in the end. I had just £2.00 left in my account and so I thought it was worth a try. Was it worth it though or just another £2.00 down the drain? It wasn’t worth it because I didn’t win, but we have to take risks in life and I took a risk. (more…)
The UK lottery has a rollover jackpot of over 6 million pounds this evening. Should I buy a ticket? Would I be any happier with all that money? Would I enjoy a walk in the park more if I was a millionaire? Would I be healthier or live longer? (more…)
What would you use the money for if you won a million or more on the lottery? In the old days the richest person and most influential member of the community was the Lord of the Manor. You could buy a posh house, buy that title and lord it over the community you live in. Some people would want to move away and start a new life. How about you? What would you do with a fortune?
The photo I’ve used today was taken last year. We haven’t had sunshine like that this year! The summer was constant rain and we haven’t had much sun for Autumn photography either. The colours are changing faster this year too. It’s only about 5 weeks before our winter starts and then Christmas! (more…)
What would you do if you won a million? According to the UK national lottery since the lottery began, it has created over 3,000 new millionaires. It would seem easy to know what we would buy. A new house and car perhaps?
It is a Euro-millions draw tonight with the added bonus of a millionaires raffle that will make 100 people millionaires in the UK. What would you do if you won the lottery? I think I would hire a lot of DVD films to get me through the next few weeks of mind numbing boredom while the Olympics is on. I suppose bribing the organisers to bugger off somewhere else is out of the question? It is all about money though…
