Now where can I get funding? #ramble #art

I’m half asleep this morning but as usual, I’ll allow you into the uncharted areas of my mind and share my thoughts with you. This website is called a Zillion Ideas because I am always having crazy ideas. Some ideas I act on and some ideas wither and die. I have an idea for an art project and I hoped to get funding for it but that is in danger of withering. I’m trying to find a way of getting what I want. I’m going to do a memories box to take to retirement homes full of things from the past and pictures. If I can find a suitable box I think that is one idea I can see through. One crazy Idea I have had for a while is to dress as a Victorian gentleman at Christmastime. Even though it is the middle of summer, the idea persists and grows. I needed a long overcoat but I have now modified the plan to a short overcoat (because I have one of those), a top hat and waistcoat. I would also wear my fingerless gloves. The image should be a cross between Scrooge and Fagin. The idea took a crazy twist this week when I was counting brand new shiny pound coins. Wouldn’t it be great if I could give children pound coins like a Victorian gentleman giving a sovereign for their trouble? Maybe a pound to every child who says Merry Christmas or sings a carol? Now, where can I get funding?

Using the flash or increasing the ISO #photography

When the light is poor you can usually choose between increasing the ISO which effectively makes your sensor more sensitive to light or you can use a flash. I used a pop-up flash yesterday and that was the wrong choice because my subjects were wearing high visibility vests! The light wasn’t too bad and so a higher ISO would have been a better choice but I realised my mistake and increased the ISO for the rest of my shots. Using the flash is usually a good option if you’re photographing people and doing close up shots.

Christmas in just three weeks #ramble

It’s Sunday morning and the sun’s shining and so I’ll let you into the most inner sanctum of my mind and share my thoughts with you once again. As usual, I’ve been taking photographs and actually spoke to some of the people I was photographing yesterday. I went to a book launch and bought myself a Christmas present, signed by the authors.
