This is an image from 2012, taken in Merrion’s Wood on the outskirts of Walsall. It was a finalist in a competition run by the hospital and you can see a framed print in the hospital. Merrion’s Wood is a great location for landscape photography, but it does change with the weather and seasons.
I mostly use my Nikon D3200 DSLR with it’s separate lenses, filters and speed-light, but you don’t need expensive equipment to take good photos. This picture was taken with my Fujifilm S5600 in 2012 and came out good!
Neodigital Art is about creating a work of art using a digital device. That device could be a phone with a camera, a digital camera or a scanner. I used a digital camera for this picture, but I have also drawn pictures with a pen, coloured them with felt tip pens and then scanned them. After scanning your picture you can then edit it with photo editing software. (more…)
Regular readers will know that the photograph that I had in the finals of a contest last year was taken in Merrion’s Wood. The light can be very difficult in woodland because it can be dark. You can see in this picture that the sunlight was bright, but he trees cast shadows. (more…)
This is my photograph taken in Merrion’s Wood last year and was in the finals of a photography contest. I got a certificate from the mayor! You can see that the picture was all green, but the light shining through the trees reflected the different shades of green. The water was still and undisturbed which made the picture fairly unique. I used to Fotosketcher to turn this picture into a watercolour. (more…)
