Posters, postcards and flags
I designed this poster last night for something to do. It was quite easy, but I did make a mistake and then saved it. Mistakes are easy to correct, before you’ve saved, but not after! I managed to correct the post code. (more…)
Pre-shoot settings #photography
We went to Moorcroft Wood in Moxley (Walsall) to take some photos. This is the Walsall canal and the bridge across to Moorcroft Wood. In previous articles I said to use a narrow aperture for landscapes to get depth of field. (more…)
Photography: Capturing history
This is Moorcroft Pool in Moorcroft Wood, also known as ‘The Sanna’, because there used to be a sanatorium on one side of the wood. It’s much bigger now as three pools are formed into one. It wasn’t like this when I photographed it a couple of years ago and so I captured a little history. (more…)
Neodigital Art | creative photo editing
The international students at the University of Wolverhampton are keen to record their time in England in photographs.
Neodigital Art | Black Country pictures
This is the pool in Moorcroft Wood, last summer. The next picture is of it recently in the depths of winter; after the snow.
From psychology to nostalgia
Today’s picture is of Moorcroft Wood. It’s an interesting place to walk around. In the middle of the wood is a pool where people go fishing. The canal borders the woodland on two sides as well. The pool filled up with water when the snow melted and so you can take quite interesting photographs.

Neodigital Art goes International
I’ve started today with a photograph by Simon James taken in the North of England recently. The view of the church from quite an unusual angle works well. When I edited this I tried to get the textures to show up as much as possible.
A week of writing, art and photography
The sun came out a little this week and so I was able to take a few photographs. This one is the bridge over to Moorcroft Wood. The sun was quite low in the sky, so the light is unusual. That is the canal of course! Autumn is here now and I must go and take a look at Moorcroft Wood and many other places, the Autumn colours will arrive quickly this year.
Neodigital Art | Coping with the weather
I took this picture a while ago in gale force winds. You can see the effect of the wind on the tree. It was also dark and cloudy. I took the picture from high above the town and it looks quite artistic, with the churches in silhouette against the sky.
Neodigital Art | Unusual shots
This shot doesn’t look unusual, I’ve taken similar pictures, lots of times. I was trying to get the tree as a silhouette against the sky and the flowers as a silhouette against the water. I think it works and is quite unusual. I also have the dark green leaves contrasting against the lighter colours on the left of the picture. (more…)
Neodigital Art | Spring colours and light
When I took this photo, I wasn’t exactly shooting into the sun, but it was over to the left and has given me some strange effects. You can see a pink circle in the middle right of the picture; you also get that effect when using a flash. The light isn’t reflecting off the trees very well either. (more…)
