I took some photos on Sunday and I’ve been doing some editing to try to create something artistic. There are people who think photography can’t be art because it’s too easy. Snapshots obviously aren’t art, but when you take some trouble to compose a shot and then edit to produce a desirable image, then it can be classed as photographic art. (more…)
With PhotoScape you can combine lots of editing features to create something original, something that you created as art. You start with a scan of a drawing or a photograph and then starts experimenting with editing. I took this photograph of a tram on the Midland Metro on a sunny morning.

The international students at the University of Wolverhampton are keen to record their time in England in photographs.

This photograph was taken late in the day and so we have lots of shadows. The benches in the foreground give the picture some depth. Will editing make it better? (more…)
People really enjoy looking at some of my pictures. Are those pictures art? I don’t think so, I think the really unusual ones or the ones that have been edited to create something special can be considered to be art. What do you think? Would you like to see this picture on the wall of your local art gallery? Or on the wall in your home?
