The beast from the East is back. #ramble

Some people tell me they would like to write a blog but don’t know what to write about. I don’t know what to write about either this morning, so I looked out of the window at the snow that came down overnight and thought of a title. Yes, the beast from the east is back. I think I’ll be wearing my thermal socks and clearing snow again later.

The Beast is back

Thinking positive

It’s not easy but I have to think positive. Life can be hard and is made that much harder by snow but if the wind drops I might get some great photographs of snowy scenes this afternoon. I have to clear some snow first, of course. At least there might be fewer cars on the roads today.

The Beast

The Beast from the East in the form of severe winds from the East makes it feel much colder than it is. The weather app on my phone says –1 but feels like –10. I can believe that.

On my mind…

If you regularly read my Sunday ramble, then you’ll know I just ramble on about whatever it is I have on my mind. Apart from the snow, I do have other things on my mind. I have a few meetings this week which could be disrupted by the weather. The forecast says it will thaw tomorrow so hopefully, it won’t be too bad. I just put another reminder on my phone for something else to do this week. I couldn’t live without those reminders now. I’ll end the week with a doctor’s appointment because my vitamin D levels turned out to be much lower than I expected. So I have a busy week, mostly preparing for spring and summer.

Spring and Summer

Spring and summer will be all about photography and art.  I also intend to take photographs that are suitable for printing and exhibiting. I must have a trial print done and I’m going to try converting my images to CMYK and see how my print turns out. The art gallery staff have said they will exhibit my prints this year. I also have even more ambitious plans! I’m looking forward to May when there will be long days and amazing floral displays to photograph. I’ll also be photographing the Black Country Horse Drive which will be chaotic but a challenge! Next month, there will be the St George’s Day Parade which is only four weeks away now. That can be a bit of a challenge too. I have a second cousin who joins that parade, I’ll watch out for him this year and try for a decent photo. So I have a lot to look forward to but I have to take my health concerns more seriously and get well enough to do everything that I have planned.

There is a quote that says understanding others is wisdom and understanding yourself is enlightenment. I think I understand my own needs better now. I need quiet but not silence to write and it can be the same with editing photographs. I need to be creative and to share the images that I create. I admit, though, that I don’t spend enough time with other people and my phone is used for the internet rather than making calls. I hope to do more creative stuff this year and less of the things I don’t like to do. I’ll try more to appreciate my friends and ignore my enemies. Life is about getting the right balance and trying to achieve contentment.

That’s it for this week.If you would like to follow my blog just enter your email address at the top of the sidebar or follow me on Twitter and follow the links. There are also links on my Facebook page.

I’ll add a few pictures…
